What Is Depression?

Well according to the mayo clinic

“Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn’t worth living.”

What I do to ward off depression is to drink a tea with several spices and herbs that I mix together to give me a super boost in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

So here is how I make it. I buy natural honey, oregano, green tea, cinnamon, parsley, garlic powder, paprika, hot sauce, sesame, curry and I do combinations with all these ingredients.

I thought to myself that a way to easily get all the vitamins and minerals I need for a whole day was to just drink nutrient dense teas. So I went to my local grocery store and bought a whole bunch of spices and herbs.

I looked at the recommended daily allowance for each vitamin and investigated which herb could fulfill that quota. This is what I found:

  1. Paprika and hot sauce give you massive amounts of vitamin A and C
  2. Parsley gives you a lot of vitamin e
  3. Sesame is very rich in vitamin b
  4. Oregano is packed with vitamin k

These are the main ingredients I use for my tea and I just add honey and cinnamon for the different minerals they give me and for the sweet flavor. I prefer not to use sugar. Just play with these ingredients, mix them up as you like and you will be sure to have a healthy and strong body. I drink two cups of tea a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

  • 2 tsp of natural honey
  • 1 tsp of green tea
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 half tsp of hot sauce
  • 1 tsp of sesame

 

Another thing that I found to be incredibly easy and effective in regulating my mood was to eat simple carbs with fat. The simple carbs spike up your energy and the fat gifts you with a slower but more stable energy, so combining these two is really effective in not only raising your mood fast but preventing from it crashing to the ground.

When you are really down and to the ground exercising can seem impossible, actually doing anything that is productive and would in theory help you not stay depressed feels like too much of an ask.

The only thing someone even in the most depressed state could do is eat something, It requires almost no effort on the person’s part and actually works really well.
